HAPPY BIRTHDAY SAGE!!!

Today is Sage's birthday. Cole was excited to have a birthday party and kept saying "party time?" When it actually started, I had to awaken Cole from a nap (always bad news) and then he was kind of sad that the "birthday presents" weren't for him. He kept telling me that it was "Cole's birthday". Cole loves cake, well, he loves to think he loves cake but really he just loves frosting. So I gave him a bowl of blue frosting rather than a piece of cake. That made him pretty happy. Sage, on the other hand, had a great time! She loved, loved playing with the balloons. She didn't really care about the presents but she had a great time having her family with her. She is not a big attention hog and rarely demands it. She did enjoy being sung to though. Today, however, she enjoyed her attention and was all smiles. When the cake was over though, she was content to go back to her old self and give Cole the attention. We love her very much. She is such a joy to us and we are kind of sad she is growing so fast.

Thumbs up to Miss California

I don't know how many watched the Miss USA pageant. I was flipping around about 4 channels and I was actually watching when she gave her interview on gay marriage. I thought to myself, "well, that is nice to know and I am glad you said it but you just made certain that you would not win." Well, I don't think it was fair that the guy who asked the question happened to be a gay rights activist and later made some really rude remarks about her. But, I am very proud of her and the fact that she stands by her answer 100% and she even said that as soon as she was asked the question on gay marriage, she said a silent prayer and asked for help on how to answer. Then she decided that it was more important to be honest to herself and be biblically correct, not politically correct. She also said she felt sorry for the guy because he was so angry. She made her mark and I would say that more people know about her than they do Miss North Carolina, who won (I think). Besides, it is nice to hear someone stand up and publically and boldly say that marriage should be between a man and a woman and not worry about side stepping the question or phrasing it so that no one knows your stand. Thank you

I love Spring

Springtime is the land awakening. The March winds are the morning yawn. ~Quoted by Lewis Grizzard in Kathy Sue Loudermilk, I Love You

Spring is nature's way of saying, "Let's party!" ~Robin Williams

Spring makes its own statement, so loud and clear that the gardener seems to be only one of the instruments, not the composer. ~Geoffrey B. Charlesworth

April prepares her green traffic light and the world thinks Go. ~Christopher Morley, John Mistletoe
Science has never drummed up quite as effective a tranquilizing agent as a sunny spring day. ~W. Earl Hall

If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant; if we did not sometimes taste of adversity, prosperity would not be so welcome. ~Anne Bradstreet

The year's at the spring
And day's at the morn;
Morning's at seven;
The hillside's dew-pearled;
The lark's on the wing;
The snail's on the thorn;
God's in His heaven -
All's right with the world!
~Robert Browning

Hurray!!!

Cole is finally potty trained! I am so excited, not as excited as he is but close. I guess excited for different reasons. Not my favorite thing to do, looking at his bowel movements but his excitment is contangeous.

When tough little boys grow up to be dads...

Will is never at a loss for words. He is quick whitted, an easy conversationalist, and can melt in with any crowd. He is definately a mans man and one of the first any of his million and one friends call when there is a football game, NASCAR race, biking rally, or any of the other things men like to talk about. He isn't scared of confrontation or to say what is on his mind. Although he would never look for a fight, being in one can't help but be fun, many of his friends are the kind rough and rowdy...He lights up when his kids get excited to see him. He loves to tuck them in at night and will get in a splashing fight with them in the tub. He knows how to make me feel special and beautiful without it being akward. He has not problem being cheesy with me and doesn't care if his friends tease him about it. He always kisses me when he leaves in the morning (I am still asleep), and checks on his children to make sure they are safe and sound. It breaks his heart to discipline Cole and even more so when Sage is upset about something. When tough little boys grow up to be dads, they turn into babies again...who doesn't love a baby?

It's a Girls World

My little girl may not show her softer side when she is pulling Will's arm hairs, taking toys from Cole, eating rocks and dirt, squeals when being thrown in the air or on the bed, walks around with crazy hair, piles on top in a wrestling match, gives Mom a pink belly, loves to play with mushy stuff, or throwing everything. But her big blue eyes, enormous grin, beautiful, sad face tell a different story. She has stolen her Daddy's heart with her first smile. He has never said no to her and laughs when she takes things from Cole. She knows how to get her way with all the men and can make everyone feel so special when she grins at them. She loves her doll (she bites the plastic face), and to chase Cole around the house. Smiling is her favorite pass time and she gets over joyed when Will comes home from work. Although she has never said "mama", "dad" is a frequent word. Of course I am her arms of comfort in times of distress, uneasiness, tiredness, sickness, and often the object of her affection but she knows her men and loves them all too much. All I know is that when a girl makes the men in her life feel like a million bucks, it becomes a girls world.

Boys will be boys

My little man child is boy all the way. He loves rocks, dirt and ants. When talking to a male, he will lower his voice and when it is a female, he makes it higher. He loves metallica and anything with a strong beat. He loves to "pee like Daddy" (standing up, not sitting) and loves to pee outside and aims to hit things. He loves to splash in puddles and try to make his toys in the toy box when cleaning up. He gets excited when he toots, but usually says excuse me. He loves cars and trains and motorcycles, eats with his hands most of the time (no utincils), loves to run jump and give pink bellies, loves to rough house, loves to tease me...he is scared to be on a motorcycle when running, just now dares to ride the riding lawn mower with Will, freaks out when an animal comes toward him, loves to give hugs and kisses, loves mommy to "sleep by me" at nap time, loves to dance to his toddler music, would rather play with girls than boys (unless the boy is a few years older than he is), hates to get his head wet, lets Sage bully him, is soft hearted, loves pink, wants to wear sages hair bows, loves to pick flowers and changes Sage's dolls diapers and puts them down for a nap.
I believe he will be a mans man when he grows up but wonderful to the ladies...I couldn't ask for a better mix.

Easter weekend

Webfetti.com

We were going to go camping this weekend but it is going to be pretty cold. Here I am living in the south where it is climate controlled most of the time and it snows yesterday. It is the middle of April and it snows here. I know that Ut. is having crazy winters lately but come on... If there is not warm weather, there is no perks to living here...well, besides my husband. It would suck to have a long distance relationship. I did promise Cole that we would have a fire though one night and he can carry a marshmellow on a stick. (he doesn't like to roast and eat them, just carry them around.) For everyone else, I hope you have great weather, fun plans, and a happy Easter.
