Kids say the cutest things

Cole and Sage were in the tub tonight. Cole told me that he needed to go to the bathroom but he was just going to go in the tub. I told him that he had to get out and use the toilet. He isn't supose to pee in front of ladies. He just gave me a questioning look. I said, "Sage is a lady and you don't need to pee in front of her." He said, "Sage is not a lady, she is an angel."

Things I Love

Okay so Will always calls me cheap. But I just hate buying name brand stuff if the off brand is just as good. Or why pay whole price if you can get a deal?

If you type in Cheap Nike Shox you get a bunch of web sites to choose from Instead of paying $90-110.00 for Nike Shox, you can get them for $60-82.00 The only thing is that there are only certain sizes. I wear a 7 1/2 but they don't carry that. I ordered an 8 though and it fits fine.

I have bought at least 10 curling irons of all sizes. I just go to Walmart and find one that is in the mid price range. They all are terrible!!! None of them would hold heat and then most of them sprung. I just figured a professional curling iron would be in the $50 dollar range or so and I didn't want to spend that much. (I know, I spent way more than that on my old ones combines.) Sally's has a "Helen of Troy" brand that is professional and it is great! The cost was around $30.00.

I also got online and bought a smaller curling iron from Amazon. It has the changeable heads so it can be a straightener, the ringlette head or a regular curling iron. It cost $12.00 and has been great! It is only 3/4 inch but I love it and it has held heat and stayed durable for over 2 years now.

The Miracle Eraser is the best cleaning tool ever invented. (Thanks Cassie for cluing me in on this secret.) I use it all of the time! But instead, I use the magic eraser (walmart brand) It is not quite as good but it works great and is sufficient for my needs with a better price tag.

A good sports bra is hard to find. And not until recently was I ever observant enough to realize that they have low impact, medium impact, and high impact ratings. I am not going to buy one for $40.00 either and that is a cheap one for a great one (so the reviews say). Danskin makes them for under $10.00 and they work very well. You can buy them online or at Walmart.

Consentrate juice need I say more?

Mp3 players can come in all prices. I bought one for Will and it was a Sansa. It was $99.00 on Amazon.com. It is 4 G. I have washed it 2 times (I won't check Will's pockets) and it still works. The face has gone out aftet the last washing but the music still plays well. Their customer service is great (Will has smashed it a couple of times and they have replaced it once. This was before the washings). Although it is not the cheapest mp3 player in the world, it is sturdy and a great product.

Will bought a portable DVD player. It is a Philips and it has been great. I don't know the cost, probably around $100.00 or so but it has been sturdy and child proof so far. We have tried to keep the kids "soft" with it but it has been dropped, stepped on and other things. It is still in great working condition.

Here are a few things that have been great products for us for less than expected.

hmmm

Will told me yesterday that, "the swelling of your eye is going down. Now it is just getting that nasty yellow and purple look." I said, "I thought it looked like a beautiful sunset."

Birds of Prey

Today my friend and I went to the high school track to work out. We noticed that there were 3 hawks sitting on the top step of the bleachers. I pointed them out to Cole. He got really excited and asked if he could go touch them. I told him that they were preditors and he would get eaten. (kind of mean but funny.) He just looked at me and asked again. I told him that I didn't care. So he and my friends 2 girls (one 4 and one almost 8) hiked up the bleachers to look at the hawks. Maury and I were jogging around the track with our babies. We are watching and the kids were getting pretty close and the birds would not fly away. Cole got to the step below the birds before they flew away. They went and perced on the stadium lights. All of a sudden, one swooped down at the kids and flew back up. (It was about 3 feet above their heads.) A minute later, another swooped down toward their head. A little closer this time. Maury and I were across the track and then a 3rd time the other swooped closer than the previous two. I told Maury that they were getting closer so we abandoned our strollers and ran across the field to get the kids. Cole was laughing hysterically at each swoop, Caroline was crying and Annie wanted to get away but couldn't get the other kids to come. It happened a 4th time and much close to the kids but by this time, Maury was climbing the bleachers and then they stopped. It was kind of crazy.
