HORSES

A lady from my ward has two horses. They use to be pony ride horses so they are really gentle. I asked her if I could bring my kids over and let them pet them. She told me that would be fine and that they could even ride them. Yeah, I don't think my kids would even consider riding them. So we went and they had a great time. They fed the horses hay and carrots, they petted them and they chased her cat. It was a really fun time and I am glad that Darla was so generous with her animals.

Church Halloween party

This years halloween party was a success. I swear we get more and more people all the time. That is quite exciting to me. I even had a good time. Usually I am running around helping everyone do their assignment. This year I told them that they were in charge of everything, put up, manning the activity, and clean up. It worked out so well. I got to spend the time with my family and enjoy everything. I told the people that if they didn't do it, we just weren't going to have it. We had a cake walk, fish pond, ghost bean bag toss, hot dogs and chili, and trunk or treat. No hay ride. We had a bon fire but we had to set it so far away from the church that it wasn't used. We won't do that again. Nice thought but not practicle. Thanks to everyone that helped and showed up.

Boo Fest

Here are a few times I remember being scared. They have stuck out in my mind for all these years.

One night after night games, Steven and I were walking Devin Dutson home. When we came home, we came in the front because the back yard was kind of scary. As we go up the front walk and are almost by the door, one of my brothers, I don't remember which one but I think Robert, comes running out from the side of the house. I was terrified and started screaming. Rebecca comes out and scolds us for being so loud and not wanting us to wake up Zak. Double victimization!

Jodi and I were sleeping out in her front yard in a tent. We decided to make a paper ouiji board to see if we could get it to work. We were playing around with it and getting kind of creeped out. We asked some question and all of a sudden the tent started to shake really bad. We started screaming. It was Ryan Bird shaking it. He started laughing his head off.

One night John was sleeping at Ryan's house. I had someone sleeping over at my house, I think it was either Jodi or Jennifer. We went over to Ryan's house to hang out with John and Ryan. After an hour or so, we decided to go back home. We took the long way so we wouldn't have to go through the ally. We were on a two person bike or we were pumping eachother (I don't remember). As we get to the ditch, 2 people jump out at us and start chasing us. We are screaming and peddeling as fast as we can. It was John and Ryan. Ha ha ha. When I got home, I went in and Mom and Dad were still awake. I told them what had happened and Mom just kind of smiled and said, "I head some screaming out there."

York had this old man mask and a dark Cloak. I don't know how many times he terrified us with this but I do remember this one particular time. The light to the front porch wasn't working. It was winter and probably 7 or 8 o'clock at night. There was a knock on the door. I go to get the door. He is in his scary costume. I was so terrified I just froze. I think he had to take the mask off to show himself before I could move.

One night I needed to walk Serena home. Of course I was scared because we had the scarrier half to come back to. No street lights, a ditch, an ally, and fields to go past to a dark house with no front porch light. York was visiting and he told me that he would walk her home with me. That way, I would walk her home all the way instead of half way. On the way back, he was telling me how he use to be scared to walk past the ally because of the ditch too and how Bill once had scared him. I think he was planning on running back to the house when we got to the ditch and leave me behind but I wouldn't let go of him.

I had gone to the Wilson's to get a movie. I had never seen the Freddy movies so I got one of them. (Lucky for me Mrs. Wilson was a huge fan of scary movies.) I took it over to the Dutson's house to watch it with Serena. We went into her family room downstairs, turned the lights off and prepared to be terrified. Her nephews were over but we wouldn't let them in. One part Freddy is about to say something to his victim and just as he opens his mouth to say it, her nephew yells down the vent "Serena". It was perfect timing and it really sounded like Freddy said her name. We screamed and then realized what had happened and started laughing!

The "old mill" was always a great place to conjure up scary stories. I remember in elementry going to the fence and looking at the old mill and talking about all the crazy things that happen there and all the people that had died there. One year at Halloween time, there was a rumor going around that the devil worshipers in Delta were going to get all the brown hair and brown eyed girls and take them to the old mill and sacrafice them. I remember being kind of nervous for Halloween because that made me a prime candidate.

I was in middle school and I was in my room doing some exercises. I would always shut my blinds because I had this constat fear that I would look outside at night and see a face looking in through the window. This particular night, I had forgotten to shut my curtains. It was dusk so not too dark but more dark than light. I hear a scraping on my window (I figured it was a branch or something) then I heard it again. I look over to the window and there was a face staring at me. It freaked me out big time. It was James Lisonbee scaring me.

I could never leave out all the spook ally's we made in the Dutsons basement. Just walking to the end with the lights on scared me to death let alone dark with things lurking to get you. The worst dare in truth and dare would be when you had to walk to the end of the hall without the lights on. I would rather have had to eat a bug!

We were sleeping out at the Dutson's. We were in our tent telling ghost stories when this man grabs the tent and yells. It was her Dad.

I could go on and on with going to vacant houses and exploring to the old hinckley school. I loved the rush you get when you were scared and people often gave me that rush. What are some of your stories? Please share.
